Bespoke tailoring for big frames
TailoredBeyondPerfection
Readymade stops at XL. We start there. Suits, sherwani and coat pant cut to your own pattern — 44 chest and up — in Phase 7, Mohali.
I · The Fit
Five things readymade gets wrong on a big man.
None of them is your fault. None of them survives a pattern drawn to you.
The Book
Everything we cut.
A page from each chapter
II · The House
We start from your pattern, not a stretched one.
Readymade in India stops fitting around XL. Everything after that is a smaller man's pattern, let out.
III · The Cloth
Six houses. Four centuries.
Nobody calls a well-cut man big. They call him well-dressed.The house rule
IV · How It Works
Fifteen days, start to finish.
One long first appointment, two or three short ones, and the garment on a hanger at the end of it.
V · The Work
Cut for someone in particular.
Questions
What people ask before they come in.
I am a 50 chest. Can you actually fit me?
Yes — that is the whole point of the studio. Nothing here starts from a standard size. Chest, shoulder, sleeve, seat and thigh are measured on you and drafted into your own pattern. There is no size we do not cut.
Where is the studio?
Phase 7, Mohali — HL 429, Second Floor (Sector 61, Punjab 160062). A short drive from Chandigarh, Panchkula and Zirakpur. By appointment: +91 73409 35986.
How long does a custom suit take?
Ten to fifteen days from the first appointment to delivery, fittings included. For a wedding, book about a month ahead.
What does a suit cost?
It depends on the cloth far more than the cut. Send a message with what you have in mind and you will have a clear figure before anything is cut. The first appointment costs nothing.
Do you make sherwani, bandhgala and groom suits?
Yes — sherwani, bandhgala, jodhpuri, achkan, indo-western and full groom suits, all cut to your own pattern, including the collar height and the length, which is where a readymade sherwani goes wrong on a big man.
Bespoke or readymade coat pant?
A readymade or altered coat pant starts from a standard size block and is let out until it closes. Bespoke starts from a pattern drafted to you and kept on file under your name.
What cloth do you use?
Six merchants: Loro Piana, Holland & Sherry, Vitale Barberis Canonico, Fox Brothers, Huddersfield Fine Worsteds and Bourgoin.
Do you alter garments made elsewhere?
Yes, where there is enough inlay to work with. Bring it in and we will tell you honestly what can be corrected.
We cut: bespoke and made-to-measure suits, coat pant, two- and three-piece suits, linen and safari suits, blazers, tuxedos and dinner suits, morning coats, overcoats, gurkha and pleated trousers, custom formal shirts, waistcoats, Nehru jackets, bandhgala, jodhpuri, sherwani, achkan, indo-western, kurta pyjama and pathani — for big and tall men, from a 44 chest upward with no upper limit — in Mohali, Chandigarh, Panchkula, Zirakpur and across Punjab.
VI · The Studio
Come in. Bring time.
